Today was a great day.  Trayse came to town and we got to meet her new boo thang for the first time.  His name is Jordan.  Since we had Osi, Pei, and Ena with us, we decided to go out to Cedar Breaks and enjoy the scenery.  On our way there, we got a phone call from Myrlice (Durstin's Mom).  She is our connection to the Native American Tribe in Alaska that we are adopting from.  She spoke to me about how she was contacted by the birth mother who was looking to adopt her baby out to the Hooper family.  Since the Hoopers are family to us... we qualified.🙌

Myrlice told me the situation that the birth mother was in and how we got to this point.  She confirmed that we in fact were going to be the ones adopting this baby and that the birth mom was onboard.  Only caveat is that with Native American adoptions, we needed to get approval from the Tribal Council before we can officially adopt.  I'd be lying if I said I didn't cry a little at this moment.

Myrlice mentioned that getting the tribal council together may take some time, but not to lose hope and keep praying that we can get through the process.  We should just be thankful that the birth mother has already given TJ and I permission to take her child.  She also asked if I wanted her to come with us to Alaska when we go to pick this baby up.  To which I quickly said yes to.  Myrlice worked with this tribe for years.  They know her.  So I jumped at the opportunity to have her with us when we went.

Why is it that I am always on the 15 freeway when having these important conversations?  I'm not sure, but I know one thing... our angels were working overtime to make sure I had the greatest signal.  Anyone driving from Cedar to St. George knows that signal cuts out in the mountains all the time.  None of that happened while I was talking to Myrlice.  I feel like we came one step closer and four steps farther today.  But we are progressing.  For that I am still grateful.  Here are some photos from today.

Needless to stay, we tried to stay busy all day so we didn't get too lost in thinking about the possibilities of this not actually panning out.  But we remain hopeful.💜
